Yellow Sheep.
Mr George Wheeler has sent the following letter to the Advocate :— As Mr Fraser's letter re yellowness of Rornney sheep is somewhat mis«. chevious, I must ask you for space to reply. Mr Fraser says that the Romneys contribute three times as many yellow sheep as the Lincolns, but, unfortunately, he does not mention the percentage af the latter. I looked up my shipments for 1893-94, and find 88G 2-tooth Romney wethers were sent away for freezing, and that of these 4 were condemned for being yellow. That is less than £ per cent. A proportion so insignificant does not warrant such warning to farmers, who will find that the breed that turns off its wethers before they are 19 months old can stand a i per cent, being condemned for yellowness, and still prove profitable.
