♦ Mr Roynayne, the General Manager, has addressed the following circular to the chairman of the Foxton School Committee : — " The Government, with the view of assistiug education, is desirous of giving country school children opportunities of visiting the large centres by rail, and also the town school children of visiting the country, at suitable intervals. The Railway Department desires to invite yonr co-operation, and for this purpose hopes you will communicate with the local Railway Manager with a view to organizing successful excursions of this character. The fares will be as follows : — For Adults in Children, charge of Children. 7 to 25 miles. . Os fid Is Od 2G to SO miles.. la Od 2s Od 31 miles and over Is fid 3a Od Tickets will be available for return on day of issue only. At these fares it is considered that all will be able to participate.
