Corean Food.
In the cHurse of an interesting j paper on Corea and its 'people* read before the Anthropological Institute, London, in November, Me Saunderson made allusion to the animal life in that kingdom. The introduction of sheep, ho said; was out of the question, for they would hot live on the land ; in fact they died as soon as they reached the country, consequently mutton is unknown to the natives. Other animals do Dot appear to have a yerjr ros£ tithe df it, for nothing coming amiss to the Corean in the way of food* such delicacies as rat, weasel, carrion brow; and,ttlagpie, swelling the bill of fare. Donkeys and bullocks ate the beasts of burden, the former being ridden by the officials. To see one of these big " pots " clothed in bright raiment, and wearing a severe countenance befitting his official rank} mounted on a small donkey, is a sight never to be forgotten;
