There appears to be other means adopted in Coolgardie of making money besides /that by reefing and dry-blowing, if the paper published in that town is correct. Until police; administ^on is improved CoGokM&te wouldlif appear to be a pleasant place — to HVe i>ut of. In a leader the paper dram- attention to the facts that a b&ndjpf depredators have made the^yo* their base of operations and'ftarai^been having a vary busy and prb^table time. It asserts that there is " a common laying .amongst, diggers all over Australia that wM the advent of the police on a #el<j|jpll security for person or property vanishes." The Writer goes on*<to say 1( there are murderers or a murderer at large on the field today. .... that for the hundred and one thefts com* gritted in this town during the past few weeks there has been but one arrest, and that of a man who was discharged without a stain upon his character j that blackguardism, foul language, ruffianism, gambling, and open immorality is rife amongst us, and amidst all this nobody is charged, nobody is punished.
