HOUSE OP REPRESENTATIVES. Friday, October 19. The Bpeaker took the chair at 11 30 a ra. The Little Barrier Island Bill passed through all its stages. The Native Land Court Certificate Confirmation Bill was read a third time and passed. The Native Lands Claims and Boundaries Adjustment : "and Titles Empowering Bill was passed.

The House went into committee on the Banking Bill. The Banking Bill was put througu j all its stages on Saturday morning, and the House adjourned at 5.15 a.m. The House resumed at 2.80 p.m. The report of the conference on the Native Land Court Bill was agreed to. The amendment made by the tipper House in the Public Trust Office Bill was agreed to. The House also agreed to the amendments in the Sea Fisheries fiilh , t the Premier announced that as" the result of the conference oh the terimildal Oode fcill} the age of consent had been fixed at 11. Tnfe clause allowing Chemis to have another trial had been struck out. The following local Bills passed their final stages -.—James Mitchell Trust Bill; Otago Harbour Board Further Empowering Act Amendment Bill ; Westland County Council Enabling Bill. The Minister of Lands uioved that the report of the Waste Landa Committee regarding the Pomahaka purchase be adopted and entered on tht Journals of the House. After discussion the debate was adjourned and the House rose at midnight, Monday, October 22. The Speaker took the chair at 11.80 p.m. The Local Bodies Loans Conversion Bill was read a first time. The debate on the Pomohaka Purchase was resumed when after much discussion the motion that the report be adopted was agreed to. The following Bills were passed :— The Mining Act 1891 Amendment Bill ; Mining Districts Land Occupation Bill; Land Drainage Act Amendment Bill; the Indictable Offences Summary Jurisdiction Bill ; Kirikiri Native School Site Bill and the Income Tax Bill. The Public Works Estimates and the Supplementary Estimates were passed. The House adjourned at 2.30 a.m.
