Messrs Loveday Bros.
This firm hare just opened up their new spring and summer goods, and, as usual, have a very excellent choice. Our representative visited this drapery establishment yesterday with the object of giving our readers a glimpse of the stock so tastefully let out. In the window to the right are shown the season's novelties for ladies, in lace capes, shirt blouses, new designs in dress fabrics, laces, millinery, coffering, trimmings, &c. In the window to the left gentlemen's stock is shown, such as clothing and mercery. The first object to attract attention on entering the shop is the Targe assortment of flannelettes in plain and fancy colours. On the right is the dress counter, and here we found pleasing effects in crepon c'otb.B, nun's cloths, Vicunas, fancy cashmeres and foule, and a profusion of laces and insertion braids so much worn this season. Passing further on we noticed large varieties of ribbons, fallings, gloves, and ladies' and children's hosiery in which tan shades predominate. On the centre stand there are piles of lighter fabrics for the season, comprising cotton qrepons, cotton delaines, drills, fou.lards, sateen twills, prints and zephyrs in pleasing designs. The Manchester department has a full assortment of eyery-day lines, including novelties in tray cloths, toilet covers, art muslins, cretonnes, &c. At the further end of the Bhop . is the millinery display of all the new styles, also a large variety of ladies' and children's straw hats. On the left hand side are men's and boy's straw hats,' cricketing and tennis costumes, shirts in great variety,
socks j tifes; belts, scarves, &c.j hats in hard and soft felts, Ac. It is evident that the public have no occasion to go outside the town for drapery, and at the firm mentioned, purchasers have the further advantage of being served by the most attentive of assistants*
