The Joutnal des Debate asserts that the French in Madagascar are constantly robbed and persecuted; The Malagasy are importing iarge quantities of modern weapons and explosives from England. The Moorish Governor at Casablanca has apologised for the violence to the British and Danish Consuls, and H.M.S. Amphion has returned to Tangier. The Italian press states that Italy and Great Britain have agreed to resist French aggression in Madagascar. Three women have been murdered in the Tyrol during the week and their bodies mutilated in the same manner as that attributed to Jack the Ripper in LondonA widespread Polish plot has been discovered throughout Russia, • and many arrests have been made in Odessa.
