The secretary put before those present a programme which had been drawn up for the meeting's approval, and after some Blight alterations had been made the following was agreed to : — 1. Handicap Race, of 100 yards. First prize, Messrs McMillan, Rhodes & Go.'s trophy; second, ss. To start at 1 o'clock sharp. 2. High Joir.— First prize, 10s ; second, ss. 3. Handicap Boys' Race, of 100 yards. For boys under 14 years of age. First prize, ss ; second, 2s (sd. Entrance free on the ground. 4. Handicap Race, of 220 yards. First prize, 15s ; second, sb. 5. Girl's Handicap Rack, of 100 yards. For girls under 14 years of age. First prize, a pair of vases ; second, a skipping rope. Entrance free on the ground. 6. Champion Race, of 100 yards. Open to all comers. First prize, £1. 7. Hcrdmb Race, of 150 yards. First prize — Mr T. Westwood's— a tea set or an accordeon ; second, ss. 8. Hop, Step ani> Jump— First prize, 10s ; second, 2s 6d. 9. Hurdle Rack, of 200 yards. First prize, a clock value 25s ; second, ss. 12. Oirl'b Handicap Race, of 100 yards. For girls under 10 years of age. First prize, a doll ; second, a cup and saucer. Entrance free on the ground. 13. Handicap Half-milf, Rack, of £1 ; second, 10s ; third, ss. It was proposed and carried that all the races (with the exception of the Champion Race, of 100 yards), be open to only footballers or residents of Foxton, Paiaka and Motuiti, for at least six months prior to nomination. It was also decided that the Committee should have the option of refusing to accept any nominations. A special trophy is to be given to the winner of the highest aggregate number of points, to count as follows :— First 8 points, second 2 points, third 1 point. Nominations, giving past two year's performances, for races Nos. 1, 4, 6, 7, 10, 11 and 13 are to close on Thursday, 27th September, at 8 p.m. with Mr Bradcock, the handioapper, and should be in his hands not later than the time mentioned, and the handicaps will be declared the following day (Friday, 28th Sept.) The acceptances are to be addressed to the secretary, and will close on Monday, Ist Octo- * ber. at 8 p.ni. The prices for nominations, 6d, and acceptances/ Gd, was fixed for each event, with the exception of the Girls' and Boys' Races. ' The prizes to be at the option of winner as to plate or money and if funds permit the prizes to he increased at the discretion of the Committee. The subscription lists put before the meeting by the secretary showed a very fair amount collected and promised, and which had principally been derived by only shilling donations. After a few other matters of a minor nature had been settled, the meeting closed with a vote of thanks to the chair.
