Some one has Blundered.
The Governor entered Parliament this year .at the main doorway, fronting Molesworth - street, and having stood on the steps at the entrance while the band played the National Anthem, His Excellency bowed to the people, and walked, attended by his staff, to the door at * the entrance to that part of Parliament Buildings reserved for members only. Here an unfortunate contretmpf occurred. There was no orie to. receiv* the Governor, and one of the aides-de-camp was sent to look fOr someone who would solve the difficulty. He returned saying that tbe Governor was to be received at the door of the Council. His Excellency replied that he was waiting to be received where he was. The didr-dc oamp went back again, and another one after him, while Lord Glasgow stood for more than ten minutes at the doorway, until Mr Botbamley, Clerk-Assistant, arrived. The - Governor pointed out that no doe had been there to receive him, and that he was not supposed to kno.w his way in. Mr Botbamley expressed ... his regret for the misunderstanding which had occurred, and stated that his instructions were to meet him at the door of the Legislative Council. His Excellency , then walked through the lobbies to th_ Council Chamber, preceded by Mr Both&mley.— Times.
