Accident to Mr Roderick Macdonald.
On Sunday afternoon Mr Roderick Macdonald had been visiting some friends at Shannon, and riding homewards made a short cut across the township, and came in contact with a wire clothes-line, which threw him violently to the ground. He "y was in very great pain, and with difficulty reached the Albion Hotel. : Dr Dernier was sent for, and he found the injuries to be very severe, the cheeks and back of the palate having been lacerated, and the upper jaws torn from their attachments to the under part of the skull so that the whole face was quite loosened and pulled out of position. Aftsr thecklu'g *he-f fa^Qflrt^gs/^whleh for a time was very heavy and stitching the flesh wounds, Dr Dermer took hyypatient next morning to the Palmerston J3fpspital^* and raug up Drs Macintire an£ ?Porter. ' The unfortunate man was theoJ chloroformed, and in a short time "me v three doctors had the bones again in' positions. No serious results are at present anticipated. Mrs Macdonald was informed of the accident by Mr Keith, and. she was with her husband on Sunday nigßti '"; a *^ te^ The Farmer says that gp^^Bgdit is given to Dr Dermer for the prompt manner in which he answered the call,'as Mr Angus Keith, starting from Shannon &t;;&15 was back with the doctor at 8 o'clock', doing the return distance in less than two hours.,
