The whole population of Bio de Janiero on the 15th withdrew to the suburbs. A heavy bombardment began on the insurgent fleet, to which one rebel fort replied. The remainder were silent. The Government fleet entered the harbour, and all the rebels lowered their flags. The surrender was unconditional. The French and Portuguese warships refused to give shelter to the insurgent officers. Admiral de Mello is on board the Aqnidaban, which is out at sea. Admiral de Gama has left the harbour on board a French warship, having been ejected from the Portu gttese vessel on which he sought refuge. ■ ■ ' , Gendarmes sarrouucbd a convanin Warsaw, and surprised a nnmber of Nihilists* in the act of raanufaotur ing dynamite bombs. After ft severe fight, in which two gendarmes and three Nihilists were shot, the inmates of the building were arrested.
