Polo Tournament.
The annual tournament of the New Zealand Polo Association for the Saville Gup was commenced at Wanganui on Tuesday. The first heat was between the Bangitikei second and Auckland teams. The play throughout was very even, and Jtongitikei ultimately won by 4 to 8. The second heat was between Chriatchurch and Manawatu. The Christchurch team won by six goals to nil. On Wednesday the first heat was between the Warrengate 11. team and the Manawatu I. team, and when time was called the score was : Manawatu, 6 ; Warrengate, 2. The second heat was between Raagitikai I. — Wilson, Riddiford, Bill and Blundell— and Warrengate 1.-J. Cameron, Jas. Cameron, W. Chapman and D. McDonald. Great interest was centred in this game, as it was looked for to decide the supremacy of the district. Both teams played well, but the maturer play of the Rangibikeis told, and they were on the aggressives nearly the whole time. The game ended : Rangitikei, 6 ; Warrengate, 4.
On the third "ay the first heat was between Rangitikei 11. and Manawatu I. A good game ended in a win for Manawafeu, the score being : — Manawatu, 5 ; Rangitikei, 2. The following heat was Christchurch v. Rangitikei I. Great in- *f terest centred tK3^raatch, the firsfcnamed team having won the Cap twice running. The Rangiti'cei men were too good, however, for their opponents, and at the end trf the tjame the scores were :— Bangitikei, 10 : r'hi^tcb.'iTch, 1. On Er-iday the Rangitikei's it* fc-ated the Manawatu by 8 to 8, thus Rangitikei is the winner oi the cup for 1894.
