Action for Damages.
District Judge Kettle gave judgment in the case of S. M. Baker v. the Manawatu and West Coast Agricultural and Pastoral Association at Palmerston last night. This is the case where the plaintiff sued defendants for the value of two prizes, the first and champion, for thoroughbred horses, and general damages for wrongful disqualification., by being barred from exhibiting at the show of 1893. The grounds upon which judgment was given was that the action of the Committee was ultra vires, and judgment went for the plaintiff on all tho issues for £30 and costs.
