A Queer Legacy.
About a hundred years ago an j eccentric lufly had left a sum of 100,000 fr. to the Institute of France to be handed to suy person who could within ten years hud means of communicating with the planets — Mars lor choice. The Council rf State will decideat its next meeting if the Institute should accept this legacy. Should it be refused she has promised that if; shall be offered to the Institute of Milan, and if not accepted there, to that of New Yor'i.
