Alleged Sheepstealing.

From information received Constable Gillespie went across the river to a whare near Hartley's bend and apprehended an o'd man named John Sfceer on a charge of stealing sheep, the property of Mr John Davies. The old man has been living In the neighbourhood a long time, and inhabited a whare which he shared with a pack of dogs. The place is described as very filthy, apparently never having been cleaned out. The old man's afcfcire is very miserable and rotten. John Steer Was brought before the Mayor, T. P. Williams, Esq., J.P., yesterday morning charged with stealing a sheep on the 31st November, and one on the 28th January, and was remanded to Saturday morning.
