Sudden Death.
_, + The Manawatu Times gives the following account of the unfortunate sudden death of Mrs J. E. Harper. If is with extreme regret that we have to record the death of Mrs J. E. Harper, of Palmerston North, which occurred suddenly at the residence of her brother (Mr G. Mitchell) at Wanganui at half-past three .o'clock on Monday morning. The deceased lady had been spending a holiday' in Wanganui, and on Saturday evening Mr Harper also went through to Wanganui on a visit* Jiftifc evening Mrs Harptv
I appeared to be in her usual state of | health. About three on Monday morning Mr Harper awakened his brother-in-law and informed him that his sister was seriously ill, and shortly after the lady expired. The remains were brought through to Palmerston for burial, and were interred on Wednesday afternoon. It is riot generally known that the late Mrs Harper met with an accident on Sunday week while bathing at Castlecliffj which might probably have (Jansed a severe shock to her system. The deceased lady while bathing had a narrow escape of drowning, being carried out in the surf three times, and was with difficulty rescued by her husband. We tender Mr Harper our sincere sympathy in his sad bereavement.
