The Explosive Gas Cartridge.
Dr Ocfcye, formerly connected with the Krupp firm at Essen, has invented an explosive gas cartridge, consisting of a tightly closed glass tube containing a few grammes of water, which is placed in contact with platina, and exploded by elce tricity. According to the charge, the effect is 14A- times greater than the atmospheric pressure (400 atmospheres), which the glass cartridges are capable of resisting. The official tests of blasting thus far made with them are perfectly satisfactory, aud have demonstrated their absolute harmlessness as well as then 1 enormous effect.
