London. Frequent collisions have taken place between railway strikers and freemen in Lehigh, Pennsylvania. The militia has been summoned to preserve order. The net profits of the Chicago Exhibition amount to 1,800,000 dollars. Goods to the value of £2,000,000 were sold by exhibitors. The influenza epidemic is again raging and many deaths have resulted. Large numbers of people are prostrated by influenza, which is spreading threughout England. An unsuccessful attempt has been made to destroy the Aldborough Barracks in Dublin. A dynamite bomb which wa* thrown v at the building failed to explode. The Sydney correspondent of the Westminster Gazette says that Sir H. Parkes looks upon the idea of a Colonial Party in the House of Commons as sheer humbug. The members of the House of Commons connected with South Africa are asking the Colonial Party to express approval of Mr Ehodes' policy.
