Capture of a Lunatic.
— ♦— — . — Some excitement was caused in Brighton road, Pavnell, through the capture of lunatic John Henry Wilson. Wilson, who was a commercial traveller, principally engaged in the Island trade for a Dnnedin firm, showed -signs of insanifcy, ly faf is said, about three months ago when coining by steamer- from Wellington to Auckland, and he was put under .arrest, bnton his arrival in Auckland his friends took charge of him, and he apparently recovered. However, lately, he again showed signs .of- insanity, and on the advice of Constable Hutchinson, his wife laid an information, which was sworn before Dr Giles, R.M., to the eftecfc that her husband was insane and unfit to he at large. Wilson was made aware of the steps which were being taken and became very violent. He armed himself with a' short dagger, with which he attacked his wife, and she and her four children and the lunatic's father had to run for their lives. Constables -Hutchinson and Lamb went to the house, where a crowd had noise 'essly, the two policeman the excited , man before he was aware ofjfchfeir presence, and quickly overpowered,, him."
