The Late Mr Levin's Funeral.

On Sunday Wellington witnessed one of the largest funerals ever seen in that city. It was the universal homage to an honest, kind and generous gentleman.

The coffin was conveyed from the house to the church by eight employees of the firm of Lovin it Co. The procession was arranged as fol low 3 : — Police, Gaol Warders, Permanent Artillery, Torpedo Corps, Garrison Band, Members of the Working Men's Club, Oddfellows, The Coffin, Pallbearers, Chief Mourners, Levin & Co. 'a Employees, Members of the Legislature, Citizens and General Followers (numbering about 1000), Fire Brigade, Carriages (27).

All classes of the community were represented in the procession, which was calculated at 2000. The procession started for the church a few minutes before three o'clock. The streets wore thronged, and in the vicinity of the church it was reckoned there must Lave been 8000 or 9000 people assembled. The Primate conducted the service in the church, which was full choral. The procession at the end of the first par 1 ", of the service was reformed and went by Lani'iton Quay, Bowen street, The Terrace, and Bolton street to the old cemetery, the site cho-en for the grave being next to tha deceased's child and neice.

The Rev. T/H. Sprott conducted the service at the grave.
