CONDENSED CABLEGRAMS.
London. The Times says that, by his resort to the closure, the Premier has incurred the nations resentment. The Standard characterises his action as marching through despotism to failure. There are still twanty-nine pages of amendments to the Home Rule Bill left untouched. Notices have baon given of no less than 350 amendments upon going into Committee of Supply. Mr Chamberlain's amendment to the proposal to apply the closure to the report 3tage of the Home Eule Bill was rejected by 201 to 102. The Premier's motion was then carried without a division. Mr Chamberlain said the action of the Government was unprecedented, and it was impossible to rely any longer upon the sense of eqiity or honour of a majority due to the vofcss of priests, moonlighters and illiterates whom the Parnell Commission had convicted of a conspiracy to destroy the Kingdom. The Premier replied that the motion was intended to secure the liberty and efficiency of Parliamentary discussion.
