Norton has been sentenced to three and Ducret to one year's imprisonment for forging the documents alleged to have been stolen from the British Ambassy. The proceedings at the trial were of an uproarious nature. M. Millevoye, one of the Deputies, made a violent attack on England, which was applauded by the spectators, and the Judge appeared powerless to repress the demonstration. The Marquis de Mores repeatedly attacked M. Clemenceau, against whom the documents were aimed, and a duel has been arranged between them. Figaro, referring to the trial of Norton and Ducret, says it is impossible to understand how the Premier or M. Develle could have permitted the Chamber to discuss documents alleged to have been stolen from a friendly Power. The French flag has been lowered at Koshichang and the Siamese ensign reinstated. The Siamese have ratified the concessions and will faciliate the occupation of Chantabun by France The King of Cambodia, over which country the French exercise a pro tectorate, threatens to reconquer Battambong, unless France compels Siam to restore it to him. During the visit of the Khedive the Sultan advised him against interfering with the British in Egypt.
