Sir William Fox.

A contributor has sent us the following tribute to the memory of an honest and able man : — Bold, veteran leader, on the upward road Tho' blame or praise no more can reach thine ear The infant State we know thou loved so well Shall through the future keep thy memory dear. Deep cut upon the records of the State Thy name and work, in all its chapters seen Thy guiding hand hath largely shaped the fate Of this young land thy brightest days hath seen. Thy joy to spend, thy life to teach the truth Thine own experience illustrated well That happy aga rewards a virtuous youth And duty's claims must over self prevail Farewell great heart, farewell.
