Hands Employed in Flaxmilling.
According to the report of the | Department of Labour there were employed in the Auckland Provincial district in flaxmilling 122 males under 20 years of age and 100 over 20, or in all 215 persons. In Wanganui there were 68 under 20 years and 135 over 20, in all 198 persons. In the Wellington Provincial District there were 182 under 20 years and 368 over 20, in all 500 persons. In Nelson and Marlborough there were 89 under 20 years and 135 over, or in all 174 persons. In Uhristchureh only 42 persons under 20 years of age were einplbye'-J* and 140 over that age, in all 82. In Westland there were 9 under 20 years and 1 over, making 10 in ali. In the Otago Provincial District 47 under 20 years
' were employed and SO over, in all 1 77. In the Southland Provincial ' District 8 hands under 20 and 8 over j 20 were employed, making 6 in all.
