Flood in New South Wales.

From Sydney news has been received of the greatest flood on record which occurred at Kempsey, on the Macleay Kiver. Central Kempsey was entirely under water, and a large number of houses were completely swept away while many others collapsed. The town and surrounding district present a terrible scene of devastation. Many of the inmates of the wrecked buildings had narrow escapes from drowning, and cries of distress continued throughout the night. One boat capsized, and its occupants were thrown into the watsr, but were eventually rescued. Great quantities of stock have been drowned, but no loss of human life is reported. A number of houses in West Kempsey also were swept away.
