Sports Meeting.

On Thursday evening another meeting of those interested in holding an Athletic Sports meeting on the 24th May, was held at the Fox ton Family hotel; A good attendance was secured and Mr Border was voted to the chair. The meeting was unanimous in favour of a meeting being held and the holders of subscription lists reported very satisfactorily. It was then determined to appoint office bearerSj which resulted as follows ;— President, J. G. Wilson ; Vice-President, Walter G. Eobinson ; Judge, E. S. Thynne ; Starters, F. Keen and H. Bradcock ; Hon Secretary, T. Redmond ; Hon Treasurer, H. Border ; Programme Committee aad Handicappers, T. P. Williams, H. Border, S. Trask, W. Gerbes, F. Keen, P. Dudson and H. Bradcock. The Committe are to meet on Monday evening at the same place to frame a programme. It was decided that tenders should be invited for Publican's and Refreshment Booths and Gates. A letter was to be sent to the Foxton : Racing Club asking their permission to hold the Sports on the race course. * It was also understood that the prize money to be offered would total to some £iO. The arrangements appear' now to be well on and a pleasant and successful day's sport may ba looked for on the last public holiday of the season.
