-«. The usual monthly meeting of the above Council w&9 held at Sansn.i, yesterday at 11 a.m. Present — The Chairman (V. 0. Ransom). Cra Taylor, Robinson, J. G. Wilson, | Masters, T. Wilson and Hammond. The minute? of the last meeting were read and confirmed. The following correspondence was read : — From W. H. Torapkins, asking to have his nam • in sar ted in rate roll for eectinn 315, Sanson, in place of David Galoway. Treasury, notifying the payment of £375 to the Coanty Fund being 75 per cent of Rutaidy. Native Land Laws Reform League, sending circular. Palmevston North Hospital and charitable Aid Board, stating that the Board can find board and residence for Charitable Aid patients at 10* per week. In cases where more than that sum is paid, patients should be sent on. Manawatu Road Boird, asserting that the Board cannot recognise the right to deduct the a v nuiti paid by j tli4 Fitzherbert Bofirl and applying for the balance £86 8-t lOd. Charles Scott, p mitiug out that hitherto the Rangitikei County < 'ouncil always repaired the approaches to Scott's ferry and asking the Conncil to remind that Council of the fact P. of rates of the property at the Kopani to Mr Walter Johnston Walter W. Johnston, notifying i,hat the Kopani had been purchased oy his wife Cecilia Augusta Johnston. J. R. McLennan, asking for g. crossing over the tram line below Clune's, opposite the gate leading to lenoant's flax mill in course of con jtruction. J. Hillary, stating that if the Jouncil was determined to enforce I she right of free ferry for matal carts it would be very hard on him, and asking for 3ome allowance. T Clune, calling attention to the fact that gorse on tho half mile on Tramway was spreading into his paddock. If not attended to he should be compelled to take proceedings for damages sustained through neglect of the Council. J. H. Hankins, with reference to the transfer of roads ; he sent tracing. J. H. Hankins, re Kari Kari road, enclosing resolution to be passed when the necessary steps will be taken to complete the stopping of roads T. Wilson, agreeing to repay cost of sanding if roads not taken over. Younger and Laing, stating they cannot go on with metalling contract on Cemetery road. The pita at Wilsons aud Scarrow's being no good. The price is too small to take it from old pits. Requesting return of deposit but if refused will forfeit it. Charles Pyke, asking Council to remove fence before the line of road is opened. J. Mathers, asking for two months longer to finish his contract, having being unable to get teams. Audit Office, returning balancesheet for the half year to 30th September, 1892, certified to. The following resolutions were agreed to : — Proposed by Cr Taylor, seconded by Cr Hammond, That the consent of the Council asked for by Mrs Scott from herself to Mr Percy E. Daniell of her right and interest in the working of Scott's Ferry be granted. Proposed by Or Robinson, seconded by Cr Hammond; That the name of Cecelia Augusta Johnston be placed on the rate book for the Kopani in place of W. Rowe. Proposed by Cr J. G. Wilson, seconded by Cr Robinson, That the opinion of the Council's lawyer be taken re the right of this Council to deduct their share of the £86 8* lOd paid by the Fitzherbert Road Board i towards repairs of the Awahuri bridge from the account rendered by the Manawatu Road Board in connection with that bridge. Proposed by Cr Robinson, seconded by Cr J. G. Wilson, That this Council take over the roads on the deposited pans of Oroua Down-! estate Nos. 514, 515, 516, 517, 518 and 519 of portions of sections Nos. 840, 341, 884, 817 and 818 Carnarvon j District and that the Chairman and Cr Hammond be authorised to affix the common seal of the Council to the consent by the Council to trans m fer to the Queen of sucb roads. Proposed by Cr Ransom, seconded by Cr Taylor, That it is desirable that the Kari Kari roads colored green on the plan prepared by Mr Stewart, surveyor, be closed and that the Council's solicitor be authorised to take the necessary steps for this purpose on his being satisfied that the Hank of New Zealand Estates Co., Ld , will consent thereto and to transfer . to the Queen the roads colored red on such plan. . tbeasuree's iueport.
