Manawatu Regatta
A public meeting in (ionttectioii A with the above was held at Whyte's \% Hotel last night,- when * gentlemen were present; Mr Stan* c sell occupied the chair. The Secretary reported having received promises to the amount of twenty-five pounds, and presented aprogramme drawn up by the committee. The programme, which ponsists of the final heat for Mi Stansell's trophies, three open-inrigged- handi- ""* caps, canoe race, sculling handicap, pair oared out rigger hajgdicaj), and^ a double-sculling out-rigger' cham-5 pionship, with various wate^ 'sports 5 at intervals, was approved. ';■ 1' ' A special committee, consisting ls; Messrs Hamer, Howard, Curtia, ;. Btansell and T. P. wag appo : nted to do the handicapping.
