The full amount collected up ; to Tester.-^ day 'afternoon was - £62 5s 6d, "and- the Mayor was at once enabled to send another £30 to the Hon. W. P. Reeves, to be for; warded to Brisbane. This makes £60 in all sent so far from Foxton, and is more by a great deal than many towns of a larger size have sent. As will be seen above Mr T. P. Williams has been canvassing for the Queensland Relief Fund for the last two days in the Levin, Kereru and Shannon districts, and was accompanied by Mr Gillespie, who was taking the agricultural returns. Mr Williams succeeded in collecting close on £14, principally in the above districts. Although, the amount is not large,, it^hafj only been added to the", fund" at " considerable trouble, as the"settlersliive x s3 far apart, and in many cases through bush traoks. He informs us that he believes he would not have had the slightest difficulty in collecting a much larger sum had he gone orit sooner, as many persons had already st\S- j scribed, several sending £5 ss. Mr Williams states he was repaid for his trouble by the kind hospitality shewn him by Mr McCormack; at Levin. It is Mr Williams' intention to forward a copy of this issue to each subscriber.

The proprietors of tho Advocate opened a fund a few daysago, andon Wed ; ' nesday cabled jtso to the Premier of Queens* land. ■-•'.■■ The Mayor of Auckland telegraphed to the Premier of Queensland asking "whether assistance for the relief of the distress should be gent in kind rather than in money, there being a feeling there that food should be sent, as it is so much more " expensive in the flooded districts, No __ reply has yet beep received. The total .sum collected has reached about £1500, and £1000 has been forwarded. The committee appointed at Feilding to collect money in aid of the sufferers by the Queensland flood, have been very successful. Up to the present Mr James H. Stevens has collected £34. Other gentlemen and the Mayor, are also collecting. \ k J The Brisbane Belief Fund Committee at Palmoi'ston have sent away nine tons of flour, half -a-ton of cheese , 12 . sidets •of bacon, and 4 hams, for transnußsion to Brisbane .
