Rule for Measuring Stacks.
■ The following rule will give as near an approximation to the 'weight of hay in a stack of hay as you are likely to obtain. Measure thie length and breadth of the stack ; then take it height from the ground to the eaves, and add to this last one third of height from the eaves to the top j multiply the length by the breadth and the product by the height, all % expressed by feet ; divide the amount by 27, to find the cubic yards, whioh multiply by the number of stones supposed to be in a cubic, (Viz., in a stack of new hay, 9st ; and if old hay 9st.) and you have the weight in stones. By reducing .t^e stones, (141 b) you Will have the l figures required.—Exohange.
