Further fighting has taken place in connection with the lynching in cident at Bakersville, North Carolina, and it is reported that 25 more people have been killed, making a total of 57 deaths. The trouble in connection with the lynching affair at Bakersville has assumed a most serious aspect In all, 42 people have been killed, among the number being the sheriff, while the list of wounded reaches 40 Three prisoners were lynched by the mob, who are now in possession of the town, and troops will probably be sent to quell the disturbance. The prisoners were deliberately shot on the way to execution. The trouble reported from Bakersville, which caused great great excitement throughout the States, proves to be a hoax. Russia is spending an extra twelve millions sterling this year, chiefly on Siberian and other railways.
