As it so happens cattle sold well at both sale* and beef ma n tained their present prices. S Abraham reports under Thursday's date :— I had large entries of cattle to d iy, and a good attendance of buyers Demand fov cattle was good throughout, and recent rates wore fully maintained. The following prices were realised : — Fat bullocks, £7 to £7 Is 6d ; fat cows, £5 10s to £ 6 ; forward bullocks, £5 12s to £6 2s ; 2£ to Syr steers, £4 14s to £5 ; 2 and 2£yr steers, £8 16s 6d to £4 103 6d ; yearling and 18mths steers £2 15s to £8 ; cows and calves, £5 3s 6d ; empty cows, £3 17s 6d ; empty heifers, £4 8s Gd ; heifers in calf, £4 103 to £5 10s ; dairy cows,? £4 10s to £6 10s ; 18raths heifers; £2 11s 6d to £3 11 ; weaners, 86s ; bulls, £8 to £5. Fat ewes 11s Bd, forward wethers lls 6d. 2-tooth wethers 10s to 10s 4, 2-tooth ewes lls 4d to 12s 9d, 4-tooth ewes 12s, 4 tooth Romney ewes 13s 6d, ewes and lambs (all counted) 8s 6d to 6s, ewes with lambs given in lls to 18s, lambs Bs.
