A DENIAL.
TO THK EDITOR OF THE MANAWATO HERALD. Sib, I see by your paper of the 18th December a report of the Cricket match termed " combined team," which is entirely wrong. There was not a Bulls man in the team, and only one man that was not a member of the «\andon team. There was also a mistake in the name of F. Andrew, it should have been A. Anderson. I should think by reading the report that you got the information hour a member of the Foxton Club, as by the match they played at Bandon some weeks ago, showed they cannot take a beating. I think Bandon treated them well in the last match by allowing them to play 12 men. They should take their beat ing in a better spirit, and not try to make the public believe they had to play a combined team. By inserting this you will greatly oblige a member of the Sandon team, and not a member of the " combined " team. Thanking you in anticipation, — I am, &c, James A. Duley.
