The Forest Reserve Enquiry,
At the meeting of the Land Board on Thursday morning the Commissioner of Crown Lands (Mr J. H Baker) reported that he had held a preliminary enquiry at Pal' merston North into certain allega. tions made by the late chairman (Mr Win. Cox) of the Palmerston North Forest Eeserve Farm Homestead Association, that certain members' of the association who were asking to have their interests transferred were doing so for a monetary consideration, says the N.Z. Time*. Mr Baker reported that he would rev commend the board to hold an enquiry into proposed transfers from Messrs F. Blanchard, I) L. Smith and R Malcolm, with the view of forfeiting all the rights of any of the applicants if his suspicions shou'd be verified by evidence taken on oath. Notice, he thought, should be given to the members of the association seeking to transfer their shares and the proposed transferees, requesting them to be present at the next meeting ot the Land Board, and notifying them that if they do not attend the
