1.0.G.T.
♦ — — , Thd weekly meeting of the local lodge of Good Templars was held on Thursday evening in the Masonic Hall, and, being the last session of the quarter, was largely attended. There is no sign as yet of any dimintion of the enthusiasm that marked the re opening of the lodge, and the number of members in regular at." tendance is quite remarkable-. i -A. keen interest hadbeen manifested in ■'■ the election of officers for the new quarter, and every office had been subject of friendly but warm contest, which is a good sign of healthy , life. After the transaction of the prelimi* • nary business, the initiation of a new member, and the proposal of three candidates, the following brothers and sisters were duly installed as officers of the Lodge for the current quarter : — Bro Betty, L.'D , acting as Installing officer assisted by Sist. E. Howan and Bro Holbrook as^lnstalling Marshals :—C.T. Br E. . Osborne ; V,T. Br J. Walsh ; Chaplain Sist Proctor ; Treasurer,, Sist Wright Stewart ; F.S. Br E. Oowles ; Sec Br Forster ; As. «ec. Sist W. Newth ; Marshal, Br J. How»n ; A.M. Sist M. Howan ; Guard, BrFurrie; Sentinel, Br. S. Lewis. In the una. voidable absenoe of W. S. Stewart his insta lation as P G.T. had to be postponed till the next meeting of the Lodge. The quarterly report of the Financial Secretary showed the financial position of the Lodge to be highly satisfactory. The revenue being largely in excess of the ex» penditure, a state of. things thai speaks well for the earnestness of the members and. the good management of the officers. The remaining quarterly- reports were held over till the next night of meeting.
