MESSRS GORTON AND SON'S STOCK REPORT.

Bttlls, October 29. Moderate entries of stook oame forward at our Feilding sale yesterday. Bidding was spirited, particularly for sheep. We sold every sheep, in the yaads and and all the oattle excepting one pen. Our quotations are : — • Cattle. — 8 and 4-yr steers, £4 17s ; 2£ to 8-yr steers, £3 103 to £8 17s 6d ; forward cows, £4 5s ; 2J-yr heifers in calf, £8 2s 6d ; 2-yr mixed, £8 ; mixed yearlings, 36s to £2 2s. Sheep.— Ewes and lambs, 15s; store wethers, 12s 6«i ; hoggets, woolly, various prices from Hi Id to 18s 9*d. Pros .—Porkers, 15s; small pigs, ss. •- ■"'•;' Pai.merston N., October 28. Mr R. B. Abraham reports : — I had good entries of stock for my sale here yesterday. The cattle offered were mostly in somewhat low condition, and the bidding was not as brisk as usual' For quiet dairy heifers there was a good demand. Hoggets sold freely at recent rates, aii'l ewes and lambs were well compot.L(l for. With the exception of one pen of cows and a few dairy cows. I sold the whole of the stock offered. The following prioes were realised:—? • Cattle. — 2J- to 8-year steers, £4 8s to £4 9s; 2^-year stews, £4; heifers in calf, £3 10s to £8 183 6d ; quiet dairy. heifers, £4 12«to£515s>, - dairy cows, £5 to £6 ss ; weariefs, 86s ; yearlings, £2 Bs. Sheep.— Wether hoggets, 10s 8d to 12s ; mixed hoggets, 8s 8d to 18s 3d.; ewe hoggets, 12a 9d ; ewea and lambs, 14s Id to 17s.
