A Hemp-mill Case.

At the Supreme Court sittings at Tiraaru on Monday, in a civil ca3e, George Knapp, a young man from Wellington, sued G. J. F. Ludlow, of Ashbuvfcon, for £1000 damages for the loss of his right arm. Plaintiff was employed as a scutcher at a flaxmiil. He was wound up on a shaft with a bundle of flax, and as a result the arm was lost, from its , socket. The defence was that the Bhafb had been properly protected, but that the plaintiff removed the protection for his own convenience, and the jury found for the defendant.
