Treatment of Sheep.
We have raceived the following correction from the Chief Inspector of Stock which being of the greatest interest to sheep owners we gladly publish : — I have to request that you will kindly correct an error in the quantity of arsenic prescribed for' lambs, as per tabulated statement on page C of the pamphlet on the Treatment of Sheep for Worms recently issued by this department, which was reprinted from the New South Wales Agricultural Gazette. It should read, — For 1,000 lambs, 2Joz arsenic instead 3£oz 500 „ lfoz „ lfoz 60 „ OJoz 7-40oz This department does not, however, recommend the use of arsenic for drenching, but the prescription as given in page 3, viz., — 1 part spirits of turpentine to 2 parts raw linseed oil or new milk And of this mixture give, fasting 1 to 3 tableHpoonfuls for a lamb 2 to 4 „ weaner 3 to 6 „ full.g. gheep. To be given three, tiny.a at an interval of seven days, 3ohn D. Ritchie, Chief Inspector.
