At the last meeting of the. .Wanganui Education Board we notice that tile master of the Pohanghia school having, resigned, the names of . Mr Woodham, Mr Trewin, Miss K. Warne and Miss L. O'Brien were to be forwarded to the Committee. Miss Prendergast, who is at Hawera, has applied to be transferred to the charge of a school; and her name has been added to others for the Apiti school committee td deal with.

At the Palmerston Police Court the man J. Anderson, who pleaded guilty to the theft of some harness, stating he had taken it whilst intoxicated, got off with a fine of forty shillings. Whilst pleased, because of his family, at this decision, we cannot approve of it, as suob a sentenoe for such an offanee, is hardly sufficiently deterrent.
The Foxton Baoing Club hold their annual meeting at their office to-morrow evening.
