The old t wn was bnilfc m 1624 by Christian IV of Deunavlc , to iep'nce Ops o (the aiuiont capital founded b)' Harold Haardiade in 1058) wh eh had b^en destroyed by fire on 13 h April 1858 Christiaun suffered by fire, t':o l*a being about £250,000. The new pavliameufc hMise was built in 1861-2.
