Notes and Events.

The section of Hebrew antiquities »t the Louvre Museum has just been opened to the public. The most interesting object is a stebe of black basalt, bearing an inscription relating to the warn of the Moabites against the Israelites on the revolt of Mesha and the death of Ahab. This inscription translated by M. Dlermont-Ganneau, and revised by M. Reman, is a confirmation of a passage in the third chapter of the Second Book of Kings relating to the ! delivery of the Moabites from the yoke of Israel.
