The New Cables.
The Chronicle in Thursday's issue very fairly points out that it would be better for the colony if the cables across Cook's straits between Blenheim and Wellington were taken up and relaid along the route between Wanganui and Wakapuaka. The cables from Lyell's bay have been broken three times and that from Wanganui not once. The cost for repairs to the Wellington cables has has already amounted to £GOOO.
