The funeral of tho late Mr D. H. Macarthur, which took place at Feilding on Thursday afternoon, bore abundant testimony to the very high esteem in which the late member for Rangitikei was held, not alone by local residents, but by settlers and townsmen in all parts of the coast. A larger gathering of representative men has not been seen on this coast. Amongst those present were the Hon John Bryce, Messrs Dutbie, M.H.R., J. G, Wilson, M.H.R., R. The coffin was covered with wreaths, including a large one from the Grand Lodge of New Zealand. The cortege moved from the residence at half past one for the English Church, where the service was conducted by the Rev Mr Hermon.
