The man who has occupied so muoh public attention lately is gen. tenced to be hung in Melbourne on Monday. A Home paper gives the following table showing the condemned man's past criminal career under the four alaiset he adopted. DEEMING. Frederick Bailey Deeming marries Miss Mary James. Leaves England for Gape Town ... 1880 Deeming joined by his wife (now identified as Mary James) in Sydney ... 1882 Deeming receives six weeks' imprisonment for theft ... 1882 Absconds from Sydney on charge of fraudulent insolvency 1886 Returns to England (August 11th ?) and to Birkenhead, leaving that place and his wife after the birth of his fourth child, about four months afterwards . . 1889 LAWSON. Arrives in Hull, and obtains jewellery on false pretences March 16 1890 Marries Miss Matheson at Beverley, Yorkshire, and deserts her- a fortnight afterwards 1890 Arrested at Monte "Video , IS9O Tried at Hull Assizes on a prosecution of the jeweir lers, and sentenced to nine months' imprisonment October 1890 WKtMAMS, Arrives at Bainhill /July 1891 Visits Birkenhead, taking Mrs Deeming (Mary James) and the ohildren with him to Rain hill, Supposed murder . . August 1891 Marries Miss Mather at Bainhill ...
