The miners of Northumberland, Lanarkshire, Ayrshire, and South Wales abstain fromjoining the strike. There is great excitement on the Coal Exchange in London. Prices have risen 7s in two days, and orders ; by the public cannot be fulfilled. The Manchester Corporation is raising a further sum of a million and a half to assist the Ship Canal Company.
