A statement published by Michael Davifct shows that £4*500 was collected last year in aid of evicted tenants, and relief was administrated to 1400 families.
The funds are now exhausted, and Mr Davifct invites the Parnellites to show a spirit of generous rivalry in collecting money for the relief of the tenants during the current' year.

Mr S. Pilmsoll, President of the Seamen's Union, stated before the Royal Commission on Labour that the loss of life on British merchant ships exceeded by four times the number of casualties on ships of the merchant service of other countries.
He condemned the manner in which vessels were loaded.
*- At the wool sales 18,500 bales were catalogued. There was a fair attendance of buyers, and good com petition for best qualities. The price of crossbred wool remains unchanged, while merinos are foil par to 5 per cent, balow the ruling prices at the December serie3. The total arrivals of wool up to date amount to 898,000 bales. The wheat market is hardening The New Zealand Loan and Merchantile Agency Company (Limited) have received the following cable message in reference to the London wool sales, dated London 26th January :~Wool — The sales opened this day at the level of last sales, except medium and inferior greasy and scoured merino, which has declined Jd per lb. The attendance of both Home and foreign buyers is good, and competition fairly active, but there is a want of confidence in the bidding. The total quantity avail* able, including wool held over from last series, is 899,000 bales, 89,000 of which have been forwarded to the manufacturing districts direct. An unsuccessful attempt was made to wreck the train by which Mr T. W. Russell, M.P. for the Southern Division of Tyrone, was travelling to Omagh, the principal town of the country. It is rumoured that the Queensland Treasury Bills will be withdrawn.
