Floods in Queensland
Disastrous floods have oocured at Towsville, where 19£ inches of rain fell in 24 hours' and 24 inches in 48 hours.
The water undermined the foundation of St. Joseph's Church (Roman Catholic) and the building ia now a complete wreck. The greater part of the town is under water.
The suburbs are out off from com* mnnication with the centre of the town, and it is not known whether there are any fatalities.
Hundreds of people have taken refuge the hill sides.
