Education Board.
The ordinary monthly meeting of the Education Board was held on Monday afternoon and Tuesday. All the members were present on each occasion. Mr • Carson was in the chair. Bulls.— The Committee wrote asking the Board to appoint a teacher to succeed Mr Watkin. —It was resolved that Miss Meads should be transferred from Patea after the holidays. Campbelltown. — A letter was received from this Committee requesting the Board to appomt an assistant teacher, and it was resolved to forward the application of Miss McGill and to inform the Committee that the teacher recommended by them was uncertificated. It was also decided to inform Miss Birchaum that the Board would consider any application from her when she had obtained her certificate. Palmerston North. — It was resolved to forward certain applications for the position of assistant teacher to the Committee. Pohangina. — A letter from the chairman of the Committe re petitions was read, as well as a petition forwarded through the Committee by Mr H. Jones, and a letter from Mr Beeves respecting his proposed removal. — The Board resolved to hold the whole matter in abeyance pending the next examination of the school. Mr Woodham having written as to bis exchange to Pohangina, it was decided to inform , him that the position was not available. Foxton. — A letter was read from the Committee applying for an increase in the staff, and it was resolved that the matter should be considered on the receipt of the next quarterly return. Terrace I nd. — It was resolved to give the teacher of this school three months' notice of the termination of his engagement, the Executive to take steps to fill the vacancy.
