Manawatu County Council.
♦ The annual meeting of the above Council was held at Sanson yesterday to elect a Chairman for the ensuing twelvemonths, and ordinary business, The minutes of the last meeting were read and oonfirmed. Councillor ftansom was re-elected Chairman of the Council. Cr McKenzie, and Mr Nye of the Foxton Borough, were elected representatives to the Palmerston Hospital Board. The following tenders were opened for claying on the Foxton- Shannon road : — Cook, Is 4d per yard ; Anderson, Is lOd per yard ; Nelson, 2s Id per yard. The tender of Cooke at Is 4d per yard was accepted.
