The. Farmers Alliance.
A meeting of the Directors of the Farmers' Alliance was held on Saturday last, Mr J. Martin, jun , Puruabanga, Featherston, in the chair. Applications for the situation of manager was considered. The Directors decided upon a gentleman, and arrangements are being made for a meeting to fix terms. The meeting approved of the circular letter issued to the shareholders, informing them of the temporary arrangements made with merchants and trades people for the supply of goods. Arrangements are being made with auctioneers for the sale of shareholders' stock. The directors have arranged for several valuable agencies. So soon as the manager is appointed, and that will be within the next ten days, the directors will conclude their arrangements f >r dis posing of this season's clip of wool for shareholders. A special general meeting of shareholders was subsequently held, when the resolution to reduce ihe nominal capital was confirmed. It is the duty of farmers now they know the benefits to be derived from becoming members of the Farmers Alliance to join that Association if only of becoming a shareholder to a limited extent. By the exertions of the* Directors of the Allianoe not only have these valuable concessions been obtained, but" they have been the means of inducing shopkeepers and tradespeople sharing their profits with the public. The newspapers are beginning to team with advertisements of this kind and the Direotors of the Alliance are entitled to the thanks of the public for it and the sympathy and support of the Association which we trust will, be accorded by members enrolling themselves,
